Muaz Ergezen: "All our preparations are complete. The only thing missing from our museum is the World Cup"
Muaz Ergezen, President of the Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled, stated that the preparations for the World Cup are nearing the end and that the Turkish National Team is working hard to present the World Cup to Türkiye.
President Ergezen: ''Our preparations are almost over. Türkiye is hosting the World Cup for the first time. All scheduled matches will be played in Istanbul. We will play our matches at the TFF Riva facilities as well as the stadiums of leading clubs such as Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş. With the support of our fans, we want to be the leader of our group and then climb the steps one by one in the first 16 competitions and bring the World Cup, which is the only thing missing in our museum, to our country. Our athletes continue their camps. When I visited them, I witnessed their joy, excitement and motivation. I firmly believe they will succeed. We invite all sports fans to our competitions. This tournament is also very important for our country. As you know, the Paralympic movement is attracting more and more attention every day in the world. Amputee Football is a field in which we are a pioneer in the world. With this tournament, we will show that we are able to host such a big organisation and we will have the opportunity to show both Turkish citizens and other disabled people around the world how to say "I am also here" by doing sports. We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce our beautiful city Istanbul to leading athletes and accompanying media professionals from 24 countries. With this tournament, we also aim to create a fertile ground for sports diplomacy on behalf of our country. Our country is far ahead of the world in terms of the opportunities offered to physically disabled individuals. Our difference from other countries is the wide range of opportunities we offer to our physically disabled sports branches. Undoubtedly, all these opportunities are realised under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. With the vision and infrastructural works of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, our athletes are achieving new successes day by day. In the field of Amputee Football, the only thing missing in our museum is the World Cup. We would like to present our thanks to the Turkish nation by bringing this cup to our country. At this point, we would like to thank our Minister Mehmet Kasapoğlu, the valuable executives of TFF and our valuable sponsors, and we call on all our citizens to support us in the matches we will play."
